Fall Traditions

The Fall season is here for us to enjoy the cooler temps, tasty food, giving thanks and of course pumpkin everything!

Here are some of our favorite Fall traditions and activities to make the most of the season:

Apple Picking

Apple picking is a day to get out into nature and explore orchards and pick your crisp delight straight off a tree. Some orchards even have a playground, petting zoo, wagon rides, warm apple cider and plenty of space for enjoying the fruits of nature.

Warm Apple Pie

After your apple picking adventure, baking a fresh apple pie should be next on your list. Find your favorite recipe and get baking! Just the aroma alone will help capture the essence of fall.

Go Leaf-Peeping

Drive up to the mountains and enjoy the changing colors of the landscape. Walk through fresh fallen leaves or you can jump in a pile to really get into the spirit!

Carve and Decorate Pumpkins

Spend a day at a pumpkin patch picking out the perfect pumpkin. They usually have pony rides and a petting zoo to entice your little ones.  When you get home take time to plan the design, take out all the carving supplies and don’t forget to roast those delicious pumpkin seeds!

 Tune into Baseball

Baseball may feature the boys of summer, but with fall comes the best part of the season. Watching your favorite team compete to win it all is exciting. Get the hot dogs on the grill, make some buttery popcorn and settle in to watch some games together.

 Set up a Backyard Tailgate
And don’t forget about football! Fire up the grill and have a family cookout in the backyard before the big game. You can also set up age-appropriate activities, such as face painting, cornhole (or bags), an obstacle course, or a good old fashioned game of touch football.
