Every Fifteen Minutes

Apollo was a proud sponsor of the “Every Fifteen Minutes” program at Ruben S. Ayala High School in Chino Hills. It’s sad fact that every fifteen minutes someone is killed or seriously injured in an alcohol related traffic accident. With a reenactment of an actual crash scene, this program challenges students to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, the responsibility of making mature decisions and the impact these decisions have on friends, family and their community.

Besides just sponsoring the event, we provided handouts with safe driving tips for teens which included a parent/child contract that they read and sign which states they will be a responsible driver and never text or drink and drive.

If you would like a copy of this handout, please give us a call at 800.426.1088 and ask for the Marketing Department. We will be happy to mail or email it to you.

RV Safety Tips!

Spring is here and the weather is warming up.  If you’re lucky enough to own a recreational vehicle (RV), it’s time to get out there and enjoy all the beautiful weather and scenery that California has to offer.

It doesn’t matter where you’re headed as long as you give yourself enough time to prepare for a smooth trip. Here is a short checklist that will help you get road trip ready:

  • Have a plan (and maps or a GPS). One of the reasons you’re traveling in an RV is for the adventure. But while the freedom to go wherever you want can be exciting, getting lost isn’t (at least for most people). You’ll cut down on frustration if you know where you’re headed.
  •  Pack the right things We’ve all forgotten to pack something while going on vacation. And buying new items at your destination can add up. So make a packing list, and remember that it’s not all about clothes and toiletries. Don’t forget your favorite road music or DVDs to watch at night. And if you’ve got kids with you, be sure to pack games and other things to entertain them.
  •  But don’t pack everything Of course, just because you have an RV doesn’t mean you should bring all of your possessions on vacation with you.
  •  Be prepared for anything You should have a first-aid kit in the RV, as well as some tools for smaller repairs. And if you’re traveling a long distance, why not bring some local items from your hometown to give as gifts when you make new friends?
  •  Limit the driving It’s tiring enough driving a car hundreds of miles a day, let alone an RV, so give yourself plenty of rest and don’t overdo the driving.

Before you take that trip, make sure that you’re well protected in case you hit a bump on the road. Apollo Insurance Services is happy to provide a free quote on your RV insurance and we may even be able to save you some money since we’ll shop around for the best rate.  Just give us a call at 800.426.1088, option 2 or visit www.apolloinsuranceservices.com.

April is National Financial Preparedness Month

Americans at all income levels have experienced the challenges of rebuilding their lives after a disaster or other emergency. In these stressful circumstances, having access to personal financial, insurance, medical, and other records is crucial for starting the process of recovery quickly and efficiently. Taking the time now to collect and secure these critical records will give you peace of mind and, in the event of an emergency, will ensure that you have the documentation needed to start the recovery process without delay.

First start by gathering financial and critical personal, household, and medical information. You may also consider saving money in an emergency savings account that could be used in any crisis. Keep a small amount of cash at home in a safe place. It is important to have small bills on hand because ATM’s and credit cards may not work during a disaster when you need to purchase necessary supplies, fuel or food.

Obtain property (homeowners, condo or renters), health, and life insurance if you don’t already have them. Apollo Insurance Services will help you review existing policies for the amount and extent of coverage to ensure that what you have in place is what is required for you and your family for all possible hazards. For extra peace of mind, give us a call today at800.426.1088, option 3 for a complimentary review.
